Yer Tostik was the youngest of many brothers, small but brave and kind. One day he set out on a great journey to help his family, riding a swift and clever horse named Shalkuiryk.

The horse could talk, and it whispered, "Do not be afraid, little hero. Hold on tight, and we will find our way home." Together they travelled far, over green hills and past silver rivers, all the way down to a wondrous world beneath the earth.

That underground world glowed softly, like a lantern at bedtime. Yer Tostik met gentle giants and friendly creatures who helped him along the way. Whenever a task seemed hard, he took a deep breath, remembered his family, and found the courage to try. His kindness won him many friends.

At last it was time to go home. Shalkuiryk carried him up, up, up toward the sunlight, faster than the wind. Yer Tostik laughed with joy as they climbed back into the warm evening air.

His family was waiting, and how they cheered to see him! They hugged him tight and listened to every story of his adventure.

That night, safe among the people who loved him, brave little Yer Tostik lay down beneath the wide starry sky and drifted happily off to sleep.
