In a faraway sunny city lived a kind young man named Aladdin. He was honest and always helped his mother about the house and shared his bread with the neighbors.
One day Aladdin found an old dusty lamp. He gently rubbed it with his sleeve to clean it — and up rose a cheerful, kindly genie!
"You found me and never told a single fib," said the genie. "For your honest heart, I will grant three good wishes." Aladdin wished for a warm home for his mother, a garden with a fountain, and friendship for the whole city.
In that city lived a princess, kind and clever. She saw how honest and caring Aladdin was, and they became friends, strolling through the blooming garden and listening to the birds sing.
The genie beamed as he watched them. "True treasure is honesty and a good heart," he said, giving a merry wink.
That evening soft stars lit up above the city. Aladdin, his mother, and the princess sipped sweet tea on the balcony and laughed quietly together.
Then Aladdin wished everyone goodnight, pulled up his warm blanket, and fell asleep with a smile. Sleep well, little one, and so will you.
